    Big Brother becomes even MORE intrusive...

     
     My favorite line in the whole column is, "There's no guarantee it will pass in a minority government,".
     
     Someone call "Yuk Yuk's". They have a new headliner for their club. You're talking about the CANADIANS, here. We toss away are freedoms, like used Kleenex during a head cold. OF COURSE it will get passed. Some bleeding heart, spinless limp-wrist will inevitably park their ass infront of a few hundred media reps, and proclaim how much "safer" this will make us. How "progressive" this law will be. How the police would NEVER DREAM of abusing such a law. Yada, yada, yada.

     Sure. "Progressing" us all the way back to "1940's Germany".

    I assure you, it will pass. It's a companion to a similar group of legislations being introduced south of the border. What have I been saying for years now? ENCRYPT EVERYTHING. Even if you're just doing online banking and shooting the breeze on Facebook, you need to encrypt it all.

    But ultimately, it doesn't matter. If they want to come take you away, they will. They will invent something. Remember, between the criminal code, firearms act, narcotics act, provincial laws and municipal regulations, there are over 5 million words of legislation governing crime in Canada. I assure you, every single citizen is in violation of *something*.
