2月25日 It's a cold day in hell, people! Now THIS, is some funny s#@t!!!!!!
Just as the title implies, "It's a cold day in hell". Know why? Because for once, I'm actually going to bat for a French person! I know I usually regard the French as self-absorbed, arrogant, opportunistic, self-righteous "surrender monkeys" (Which SORRY GUYS! You've rightfully earned said labels.). But in this case, the President of France did nothing wrong. Regardless of what his other party members think.
I wrote a blog about a similar situation that took place at a comedy club with Michael Richardson a few years back, and the crux of the arguement is very applicable here. In short, it basically says this: DON'T BE A WISE-ASS. Because you can never reasonably gauge, how any specific individual will react you unrequested slurs. Obviously, the guy in the crowd had purposely planted himself there as a "faux-supporter" of Sarkozy's, for the sole purposed of getting in his face to insult him. Thinking he would get away with said insult, incident-free. But that's where my theory on individuality comes into play. And Sarkozy exersized his sense of "individuality", and freedom of speech, by returning the favour. Sure, he's the President of a country. Maybe he could have applied some more self-restraint. But would you and I have acted the same way in his position? If we're honest with ourselves, most likely yes. So I'm certainly not going to publically crucify Sarkozy for doing something I would do, under similar circumstances.
Maybe that guy will think before he opens his mouth next time. When you take into consideration what our former Prime Minister Jean Chretien years ago, when a heckler got right up into his face, this son of a bitch got away pretty much scott-free!
Gh0sT 2月22日 Socialized Medicine at its Best.... You need to see this....
You'd think the United States would have learned from our mistakes. The phrase "The grass always looks greener on the other side." is a perfect description of what's transpiring with the topic of healthcare, in the U.S Presidential debates .
Socialized medicine DOES NOT WORK. You need only be a victim of it once to figure this out. It's abused by people who DO NOT need it, and its benefits are predominately inaccessable to those who honestly DO. The above video clearly demonstrates just how absurd the whole process truly is. Waiting 8 months for life-saving procedures to become available, and another 8 for their financial backing to be approved, if obtained elsewhere. Enough damage was done in 1995, when former Ontario Premier Mike "The Knife" Harris and his Progressive Conservative co-horts slashed healthcare spending, like Jack The Ripper slashed prostitutes. The healthcare system never full recovered. Sociologists at the time were predicting, it would take AT LEAST 15 YEARS for any new governing party, to "undo" the damage done by the Conservatives. Now, in 2008, the horror stories just keeping getting worse. Patients dying in ambulance bays, waiting for a bed. Medical instruments being left inside chest cavities. Necessary medical prodedures, no longer being socially covered. The wrong limbs being operated on. Fifteen hour waiting times. Unaffordable perscriptions. It's gone beyond the "snowball effect". It's a glorified avalanche of problems.
There's still time for the Presidential candidates to change their minds, and essentially "fine tune" the private system they already have in place. I would SERIOUSLY caution them towards doing anything BUT. Don't listen to Hollywood neophyte blowhards like Micheal Moore. Who's not even a Canadian citizen, and doesn't live here. If he honestly believed in the verbiage he spews, he would. Save yourself, and your country, the headaches. Take a lesson from those that know firsthand.

2月19日 The Royal "Conspiracy"..... He just won't let it go........
I remember exactly where I was when The Princess of Wales died. I was working at a restaurant near Pearson International Airport, when one of my servers came into the back to inform me of what transpired. While this was a tragedy, what makes it more so, is the fact that certian parties simply REFUSE to let the dead rest in peace.
I'm absolutely convinced, were not for his extensive fortune, Mohamed Al Fayed would have long ago been locked up and medicated for his extreme paranoia. His love/hate relationship with the media, accusing them of "being a part of the conspiracy" one minute, and then running to them the next for assistance in pleading his case, just goes to further my point. It's bad enough the intrusiveness of the media was a prime factor in the death of Princes Diana. But Al Fayed's obsessive-compulsive ramblings, without a shred of substantial proof to back up his claims, has only served to perpetuate the absurdity of the situation as a whole. It's been over a decade since Diana was privately laid to rest, on an inaccessable island estate. Yet she STILL is unable to rest in peace, due primairly to Al Fayed's persistence of a "conspiracy".
I'm not sure if this is a case of a father who, ten years after the fact, is still unable to come to terms with the grief of losing his son. Or, if Al Fayed is more preterbed at the notion of forever being slighted out of a permanent, physical connection to the Royal bloodline. Whatever it is, only he knows for sure. What is obvious, however, is that this man seems hellbent on never letting this woman literally "rest in peace". Which is sad. With her wealth and status, The Princess of Wales could have just as easily lived the life of a spoiled socialite. Sequestering herself away from the outside world. Instead, she stepped outside her comfort zone, and championed for those suffering from poverty, AIDS, and war. The whole time while battling for a moment of privacy from the media. Considering they aided in her untimely demise, the least they, and Al Fayed could do, is leave her legacy alone.
There's more evidence to prove Diana and Dodi were the victims of an unfortunate set of circumstances (Specifically a drunk, speeding driver. And a woefully inadequate French emergency healthcare system.), then there is to suggest a conspiracy. And to believe such a conspiracy does exist, would ential the belief that Henri Paul purposely, for whatever reason, drank himself intoxicated, and suicidally drove the car into the bridge supports. Not to mention, at speeds which STILL couldn't assure the deaths of the occupants. And what reason would Paul have to do so? A "payoff" he would never see? Of course not.
The most responsible thing anyone can do, is to NOT help further this mess, by payng it no attention. Don't purchase the tabloids, and don't waste time watching yet another conspiracy-riddled, factless documentary. While we may never be able to silence Al Fayed entirely, we don't have to hand him fuel for his fire.
Gh0sT 2月15日 Helmet Laws and Religion..... Uh oh. Here we go..........
I've always been a firm believer in the idology of "Thinning the heard". This should be applied to the motorcycle culture. Unfortunately, there's far too many small-dick people out there riding bikes. And keep in mind: This is coming from a guy who rides one, and who's worked in the buisness. Not some "ham and egg'er", who's tossing out his two cents out of ignorance.
This is a PRIME example of what I'm refering to. Personally? I think we should abolish helmet laws altogether. Not because I feel it infringes on our freedom of choice. But doing so would make it far easier on salespeople the world over. I gotta be honest with you. When I sold motorcycle safety gear, people who bitched about wearing helmets make me sick. They'd puff out their chests, spew their anti-government venom, and reek of overly-testicular Republicians. Which is funny, because I'd vote Republician myself. But how quickly I digress.....
My point being is this: Wear one, or don't wear one. I really don't give a shit. Just do two things: 1.) Don't piss and moan, when you end up a vegetable after a life-altering head injury (Actually, after such, you most likely wouldn't be physically able to complain, anyways. So it's a moot point.) and 2.) Don't use some BULLSHIT excuse like, "My religion doesn't not allow it", in order bypass the law.
I guess this individual thought that nobody would be paying attention to what he said. Too bad for him I caught this story, and I can recall at least on instance, in which a man matching his same faith and appearance bought a Honda Shadow from my work. Ironically enough, the first thing he inquired about was a HELMET. "I know it will be hard to fit over my turban, but can you please find me a safe helmet?". Maybe this man wasn't as "devout"? I don't know. But he was clearly a safety conscious, family man. So he gets points right there. While he respected his religion by not actually removing his turban, he still took into account his value as a person and father. But like everything else, I guess it varies from person to person.
This shit is bad enough. But if The Snell Foundation ever starts rating turbans for safety, I swear: I'll sell my Katana altogether.
Outta here,
Gh0sT 2月13日 Sports sinks to a new LOW.....Clemens must have any awfully comfortable couch. Because after this "admission", he'll be spending alot of time on it. In between seeking out legal assistance, for his impending "ass-kicking" in divorce court. Since tossing the mother of his kids to the wolves. Pro athletes must think the general public are awfully gullable. Ironically enough, when Clemens states that his wife took HGH, it's the one time I actually DO believe him. Take one look at Debra Godfrey's pictorial in the 2003 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition..... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/swimsuit/collection/issues/2003/03_rclemens_01.html .....and you know that mother of four didn't get that body without some serious pharmaceutical intervention. Unless she had access to a 24-hour gym, full-time maid and butler. I'm not condoning her usage, per se. However, unlike Roger, at least she wasn't using HGH to compete with anyone. Except maybe "Father Time". Hope Roger didn't teach her to swing a bat! Gh0sT
2月7日 Yet ANOTHER bad apple wearing a badge.... CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS???
I've said this before multiple times, and I'm going to KEEP saying it, until those in power actually DO something about it.
Cities and provinces need to STOP hiring officers to fill quotas, or because their specific appearace may qualify them as a law enforcement "poster child". Just because a person is physically fit, imposing, "clean cut", can perform complex mathematical equations and problem solving at breakneck speed, should not automatically qualify them to carry a badge. The amount of officers chanrged in the last several years has skyrocketed. SERIOUS charges. The above is a prime example. Already on suspension when caught soliciting a prostitute. To make matters worse, his lawyer is already blaming the very badge his client carries, for his behaviors. Irony, kids. Irony.
If a complete and total overhaul is not done regarding police hiring policies, especially at the psychological level, these type of rogue individuals will continue to run roughshot on the streets. Using their authority for evil. Not good. Police services want to know exactly WHY some members of the community fail to trust them? Examine their OWN house, I say. Recruitment officers and psychologists need to spend FAR, MORE time examining what goes on in a potential recruit's head, and get a much better understand of that person's ethics and values as a whole. Because what is essential to the eye, and to upholding the integrity of the job, can't be observed on the outside.
But what do I know? I'm just a "civilian".
2月3日 "Drinking while pregnant? Sure!!! Why not?" Unbelievable........
If you're an expecting mother (and I used the term VERY loosely), and you can't go the duration of your pregnancy without having to "indulge", that tells me one of two things. Either 1.) You're so goddamn selfish, you're willing to risk your unborn child's health for the sake of your own wants (In which case, you are unqualified to be a parent.). Or 2.) Your relationship with the child's father has tanked SO BADLY, you need booze just to take the edge off. In either case, it doesn't bode well for the baby.
Women are choosing to ignore the reality of their biological clock with more frequency. While, at the same time, expecting modern science to pick the up physiological "slack" for their choices. So if you choose to ignore the advice of the scientific community, and the millions of physicians around the world, they by all means: PLEASE pick up the tab for your own indescretions. If and when shit hits the fan at birth.
