Since when did the concept of "spare change", suddenly acquire the characteristics of a "TEN" or "TWENTY" dollar bill??????

 

 That's what some of the habitual panhandlers on Queen St. West at Bathurst , are now classifing as "spare change". It's not bad enough they are catered to hand-and-foot, by the "St. Christopher's/The Meeting Place" drop-in centre at the north-west corner. Which allows them to congregate outside in a drunken stupor, while they scream and fight like a pack of wild dogs over a fresh kill. Now, you can get harassed and be followed for blocks at a time. The whole while being forced to listen to their sob stories, as they breath all over you with their Listerine-riddled breath. Because apparently, the "average joe" like myself is FILTHY rich, and has no problems or financial responsibilities of his own. If you DO offer something their way, you'd be surpised to see how UNGRATEFUL they are as of late, when they complain to your face it wasn't enough.

 

 It's ALWAYS the SAME faces, and the SAME stories. For YEARS AND YEARS on end. Nothing changes, and nothing is their fault. Not their addictions, their unemployment, their health issues, nothing. Perpetual lies, perpetual verbal diarhea. Anything to get a free lunch. Now, with 2 centres within ONE block of each other, the problem is only getting worse. That piticular strip has become a freeloader's paradise. With the newly crowned "Arts and Design" district STILL unable to shake this monkey from their back. Change the name all you want. Throw up a couple of new street signs, and add a few fresh coats of paint. It's still an inhospitable section of town. Only to be traversed when absolutely necessary. Personally, if you ask me, all the local buisness owners who dug into their OWN pockets, to help spruce up the neighbourhood, deserve an outright refund from the city. Just based on the city's flagrant disregard for their honest efforts. Not to mention, it's these same, bleeding-heart liberals in city hall, that are wonder exactly WHY small buisness owners are unable, or unwilling, to maintain a buisness on Queen St West, for an extended period of time.

 Just to further prove the idiocy of our Premier, check out the lengthy list of world countries that already have banned cellphone use while driving. Some of which are so poverty-stricken, you're more apt to find someone riding a CAMEL or HORSE, than driving a motor vehicle. But even they posess enough forethought to see such a law makes sense. DOES THIS TELL YOU SOMETHING? It does me.

  Make no mistake: I have no issue with what the Chapman's do for a living. Quite frankly, their's is a thankless job, and I don't see anyone lining up to do it. However...If someone is going to take up the mantel of "upholding the law", then you'd better go above and beyond the call of duty to set a proper example. And if one can be judged by the company they keep, then the above second link may speak volumes.

 

 To summerize....

 

 Not to long ago, at a professional wrestling and mixed martial arts show in the United States, one of it's greatest stars found himself left unconscious after an unprovoked assault. Done Frye, a retired fighter and former career firefighter, was suckerpunched from behind by, of all people, the "bodyguard" of Leland Chapman. Duane Chapman's son. Also a bounty hunter. After which, the bodyguard fled, and has yet to be arrested and charged for the crime. Why the Chapman's would keep company with such an obvious lowlife is beyond me. What I do know is this. I have personally followed Don Frye's career from its inception. And in a sport riddled with glorified egomaniacs and outright a$$holes, in 15 years, I have never heard one bad word spoken about Don Frye. NOT ONE. So I'd be curious to know exaclty what was done by him to deserve such an insult.

 

 Again...If one can be judged by the company they keep, after the last few weeks, the Chapman's are on a slippery slope downward.
